The final round of the five race kids cyclocross series was held on Saturday September 19. A great group of kids competed against the clock around a challenging cyclocross/cross-country mountain bike style course set up by Wayne Bennett and Mike Garrett of Don't Push It Cycling Club.
The venue used at Stratton Play fields offered a great variety of challenges from descents to climbs along with a bit of challenging technical wooded area. The children tore around the course fighting for series points as well as the day's podium positions.
The results for the afternoon racing were:
7-9yrs: 1st - Alfie Peters, 2nd - Harry Meredith, 3rd - Toby Peters.
10-11yrs: 1st - Charlie Meredith, 2nd - Jaei Meldrum, 3rd - Kristoff Connor.
The Overall series points winners were:
1st - Jaei Meldrum - 38pts, joint 2nd - Sophie Blake & Daniel Smith - 30pts.
